How to Create a SkillBridge Listing that Ranks High in Searches on Career PCS

Career PCS pulls nearly all SkillBridge opportunities from https://skillbridge.osd.mil/.

Then we give you the power to attract better candidates with new roles, more locations, and higher ranking in Google searches.

Step 1: Claim Your Listing on Career PCS

SkillBridge-approved companies can claim their auto-created DoD website listing on Career PCS for FREE and improve how you show up to candidates. Claimed listings show higher in search results.

Here's how you do it.

Claim Your Listing:

  1. Find your listing on the map and click claim at the bottom of the post OR create an account and search for your opportunity.
  2. Create an account using your company email.
  3. Go to your email to verify the address.
  4. Update your company information.
  5. Add your logo to make your listing standout in search results.

Step 2: Get Specific

Most companies have only a generic listing or two on the DoD SkillBridge website.

This is great if you're a big name like Northrop Grumman, Home Depot, or Google.

But if you're a small company most transitioning servicemembers won't recognize, it's a real problem.

You'll get more of the RIGHT candidates by having more SkillBridge listings relevant to what servicemembers are looking for.

For example, if you would like marketing and program management support or need a specific clearance level, create a listing on Career PCS for each of those positions and clearly explain what the servicemember will learn during their SkillBridge.

Most servicemembers search using keywords for jobs and types of work they would like to do.

Listings with more of the right keywords will rise to the top of search results and get more applications from applicants looking for that specific type of experience.

No more scrubbing through hundreds of candidates that aren't the right fit!

To create a strong listing on Career PCS:

  1. Add new listings for each role you'd like to fill with a SkillBridge candidate (e.g., you are looking for a product manager, marketing assistant, or sales team member.) You can always remove the listing from view if you don't need to fill it anymore.
  2. Use a good template (like this one) that uses words a servicemember will understand (steer clear of business jargon!)
  3. Add specific locations for each listing if all your roles aren't in the same location. This will make sure you show up on the Career PCS map in each of those cities close to your ideal candidates.
  4. Celebrate when you get exactly the candidates you've been looking for!
